STATESBORO, Ga. – Troy secured its sixth consecutive victory with a series-opening sweep over Georgia Southern Thursday morning in Hanner Fieldhouse. Caitlin Cooper posted nine kills on .467 hitting as the Trojans downed the Eagles, 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-22).
The Trojans (10-4, 10-4 SBC) have now tied the school record for most conference wins in a season and have won six-straight matches, tied for the fourth-longest win streak in the program's Division I era (1993).
Freshman Tori Hester finished one dig shy of her third double-double of the year with a team-high 11 kills and nine digs.
