To kick off the 2016 season, the Troy Trojans defeated the Governors of Austin Peay by a score of 57-17 at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Austin Peay began the game on offense and couldn’t seem to find a rhythm after failing to convert on fourth down. After the turnover on downs, the Trojans took their first possession, and on the first offensive play for Troy, junior running back Jordan Chunn took the ball up the middle for a 48-yard touchdown.
The Trojans set the tempo for this matchup early and never seemed to slow down as the game progressed.
