Troy QB Kaleb Barker out for season with knee injury

Troy quarterback Kaleb Barker will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury suffered on Saturday against Georgia State, head coach Neal Brown announced Monday.

Barker, a junior from Decatur, totaled 136 yards and two touchdowns passing and 110 yards rushing prior to incurring an ACL injury in the first half of the Trojans' 37-20 victory. The former Priceville standout has passed for 1,013 yards and 10 touchdowns with just two interceptions and rushed for 261 yards and three scores this season.

Sophomore Sawyer Smith, who has played off the bench in every game this season, will start for the Trojans (5-1) in Saturday's non-conference game against Liberty.
