Troy QB Kaleb Barker honored by Sun Belt Conference

Troy quarterback Kaleb Barker has been named Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Barker passed for 273 yards and two touchdowns and ran for two more in a 35-27 victory over Louisiana-Monroe last Saturday. The junior completed 23 of 23 passes, an 82.1 percent mark.

Barker, a former Priceville High School standout, completed 14 straight passes at one stretch while splitting time with Sawyer Smith. Barker's 69.4 career completion percentage is tops in school history among quarterbacks with at least 100 attempts.

Other players honored by the Sun Belt on Monday include Arkansas State defensive end William Bradley-King (Defensive Player of the Week) and Appalachian State defensive back Steven Jones (Special Teams Player of the Week).
