Troy QB Brandon Silvers returning to familiar setting for Dollar General Bowl

Troy quarterback Brandon Silvers helped rally the Trojans past South Alabama earlier this season at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile, site of this week's Dollar General Bowl.

After two straight losses to his “hometown” team, which recruited him out of Gulf Shores High School, Silvers completed 28-of-42 passes for a career-high 395 yards and a touchdown. He connected with Sidney Davis on a 42-yard bomb on the Trojans’ last drive to set up the go-ahead touchdown that finished Troy’s rally from a 14-0 deficit.

It helped erase memories of his last outing at Ladd-Peebles Stadium, a 9-of-18 performance for 62 yards in a 27-13 loss to the Jaguars in 2014.
