TROY – Emotion surrounds every Senior Day ceremony. Troy’s was taken to a different level when the family of the late Corey McCullers was included.
McCullers, from Holtville High School, died in a car accident in June of 2015. The redshirt freshman offensive lineman would have been a senior this season. Offensive coordinator Matt Moore joined McCullers’ parents, Chris and Mary Lou, and his sister, Cara, in the pregame recognition of the Trojan seniors.
Every senior then went to greet and hug the McCullers before returning to the locker room.
“His parents are special people,” Troy head coach Neal Brown said.
