TROY NOTEBOOK: Trojans inspired by DeMarcus Ware's visit

“It was very inspirational. It was one of those big days you look back and say, ‘I was there,’” Trojans junior quarterback Brandon Silvers said. “Third row, right behind his family (at the celebration). That was a big day, and it inspires us.”

Ware was lightly recruited out of high school and landed just one scholarship offer – to Troy. He switched from wide receiver to defensive end and emerged as a dominant force on the collegiate and pro levels.

The State of Alabama, the City of Troy and Troy University celebrated the first “DeMarcus Ware Day” for his accomplishments on and off the field Tuesday.
