Troy cornerback Kamryn Melton, a Dothan High graduate, picked off Georgia State’s flea flicker attempt with four minutes left in the first quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Trojans increased their season total to 14 picks when Demetrius Cain intercepted Connor Manning’s pass in the fourth quarter.
“We love to get our hands on many balls, a lot of turnovers,” Cain said. “That helps the offense out.”
The Trojans (5-1 overall, 3-0 Sun Belt Conference) now have multiple interceptions in five consecutive games for the first time since 2005. Last season, Troy registered just six picks all season.
