“I actually went to coach (Dabo) Swinney’s football camp,” the senior from Greer, S.C., said. “I went out there and they were taking pictures of the rock, but I still didn’t touch it.”
Despite that, Dillard’s Clemson roots run deep. He has attended two Clemson games, the head coach’s football camp and even played two high school games on the Memorial Stadium field. Dillard said the atmosphere at the venerable stadium is electrifying.
“Loud. Loud and high-paced. From everything from coming down the hill, from the fans, the tailgating, Tiger Walk, it’s just loud and fast-paced,” he said.
