TROY – It didn’t take long to realize that last season was last season.
Troy made too many errors to play with a nationally ranked opponent and Boise State punished the Trojans in a 56-20 victory Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Those errors – in all three phases – showed throughout the first half.
A key sequence came when Boise State broke a 7-all tie with a big play late in the first quarter. Broncos quarterback Brett Rypien hit CT Thomas in stride behind Will Sunderland on a touchdown play that covered 53 yards.
That score broke an impressive streak by the Troy defense.
