LAFAYETTE, La. – The Troy men's track & field team sits in second place thanks to a strong early showing in the field events, while several other Troy men and women qualified for finals later in the weekend in Thursday's opening action of the Sun Belt Conference Championship at the Ragin' Cajuns Track/Soccer Facility.
Cole Stewart and Marek Taskar set personal bests in the javelin to score the first points of the weekend for the Trojans. Stewart took home the silver medal thanks to a throw of 67.36 meters, while Tasker was just behind in fourth place with a throw of 65.
