TROY, Alabama – Former Auburn guard Tyra Johnson signed to play with Troy on Wednesday, head coach Chanda Rigby announced.
After transferring from Auburn in May, Johnson spent last season at Chipola College where she averaged 11.1 points in 27 games for the Indians. The 5-7 guard played in 20 games as a freshman on The Plains averaging 3.0 points in 7.8 minutes per game.
"Tyra is a unique player who brings a specific skill set to our team," Rigby said. "Her scoring from the perimeter will stretch our opponent's defense and create more room for our post players to go to work around the goal.
