MOBILE – An opportunistic Troy defense helped the Trojans put away a pesky Buffalo Bulls team Saturday at the Dollar General Bowl at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
With Troy clinging to a three-point lead, Hunter Reese recovered a fumble deep in Bulls territory – setting up Sidney Davis’ game-sealing 20-yard touchdown run with 3:09 left in a 42-32 win. Antione Barker sacked the Bulls’ all-star quarterback Tyree Jackson to force the fumble.
Troy (10-3) has now won 10 games in three consecutive years for the first time in program history and tied the 1993-95 teams for most wins in a three-year period with 31.
