Troy, Ala. – Sophomore Javan Johnson scored 15 points in the second half, helping Troy earn a hard-fought 82-77 victory over Central Arkansas in non-conference men's basketball action on Sunday afternoon in Trojan Arena.
The Trojans (2-3) went into halftime with a 43-34 lead but the Bears (2-3) would not let up as they quickly took the lead less than four minutes into the second half.
Johnson finished the night with a career-high 20 points, knocking down three three-pointers and grabbing two rebounds. Senior Jordon Varnado posted his third 20-point game this season, dropping 21 points to go along with eight rebounds, a pair of assists and two blocks.
