The Trojans learned Thursday morning during the selection show on The Golf Channel that they will be in the NCAA Franklin (Tenn.) Regional. In-state schools Alabama and Auburn (Tuscaloosa Regional), Alabama State (Stillwater Regional) and UAB (Tucson regional) also earned berths into the tournament, which runs May 16-18.
Troy, 60th in the Golfstat rankings, earned a spot in postseason play thanks to a victory over Georgia State in the Sun Belt Conference finals last week in Miramar Beach, Fla. Despite knowing they would be in the tournament, junior Clayton Vannoy said all the golfers were anxious to learn where their next tournament would be.
