KIAWAH ISLAND, South Carolina – Troy fired an even round of 288, tied for the lowest of the day among the 16-team field, to climb two spots on the leaderboard into eighth place on the final day of the season-opening The Invitational at the Ocean Course at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
After playing to an average of 73.29 and 73.01 in the first two rounds, the course was decidedly more difficult during Tuesday's final round as it yielded an average round of 75.76 to the field of 92 golfers.
Troy's even round was matched by only Maryland, while Middle Tennessee won the team title despite a round of 6-over on Tuesday and Ole Miss finished second after shooting 7-over on the day.
