Troy senior linebacker Carlton Martial, has been named a finalist for the Burlsworth Award.
The award is given to college football's most outstanding player who began their collegiate career as a walk-on.
Martial leads the Trojans in tackles with 102. He also has one sack, one pass deflection, one interception and one forced fumble.
Martial, a 5-foot-9, 210-pound linebacker from Mobile, was undersized coming out of high school and carried zero college football offers. After walking on at Troy, Martial leads Division I college football in tackles with 343 since the beginning of the 2019 season.
