Several Trojans have donned yellow jerseys this spring, a sign they are injured and cannot compete in contact drills. While teams are often down several scholarship players in spring because the new signing class has not arrived, Troy had just 44 scholarship players available for Saturday’s scrimmage, Trojans head coach Neal Brown said.
The low numbers have impacted how Troy has planned its scrimmages, including Friday night’s, he added.
“That’s why what I was trying to do was go 30 plays live with each unit, so I wanted the ones and twos to both get 30 plays live,” Brown said Saturday.
