TROY – You’re a college football player with two nicknames – “Red Rocket” is one and “Wendy” is the other.
Which one would you prefer? Kyler Knudsen agrees. The “Red Rocket’ from Sugar Hill, Ga., had seven tackles, broke up two passes and had a game-clinching interception that helped Troy secure its 26-16 victory over Louisiana on Saturday.
It was Knudsen’s first collegiate start. The 6-foot-4 free safety was awarded a scholarship after that performance. Knudsen, a redshirt junior, couldn’t help but think he was living a dream all weekend.
“You know those dreams that feel like they’re real life and I’m like, ‘I’m going to wake up eventually,’” Knudsen said Monday.
