Troy football's late comeback against No. 24 Coastal Carolina came up short in a 35-28 loss on Thursday night in Conway, South Carolina.
Coastal Carolina (7-1, 3-1 Sun Belt) converted a fake punt with three minutes remaining in Troy (4-4, 2-2) territory and was able to run out the clock to 35 seconds.
"It was a great call on their part, faking the punt in that instance," Troy coach Chip Lindsey said. "We had a guy there to make the play, but he didn't make it. Takes some guts to make that call there, but give them credit; they did.
