After South Alabama scored 17 unanswered points and mounted a comeback, Troy stopped the advancing Jaguars to win the game 31-24 on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Troy.
Troy (5-4, 3-2 Sun Belt) performed on both sides of the ball in the first half while South Alabama (5-4, 2-4) performed better in the second half.
South Alabama quarterback Jake Bentley went down with a knee injury on the Jaguars' opening drive and did not return.
Desmond Trotter took over at quarterback for the Jaguars.
