Troy football finding balance in schedule

For a smaller school like Troy, playing football games against some of the biggest programs in the country helps with exposure, as well as the finances.

But for the Trojans, less is more.

A year after playing three Power 5 schools, Troy has cut back to one for the 2016 season – Sept. 10 against Clemson – which has coach Neal Brown and athletic director Jeremy McClain feeling better about making improvements in the win-loss columns during their fourth stop of the Trojan Tour at Wynlakes Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.

“We’ve got it where we want it now,” Brown said.
