JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Despite an early lead on a header from Jordan Stack, the Troy women's soccer team faltered against in-state foe, Jacksonville State, 3-2 at the JSU Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon.
The Trojans (2-3-1) have their three-match unbeaten streak snapped, losing to JSU (2-6-0) for the first time since 2013.
Stack and Erin Bloomfield put Troy on the board in the high-scoring contest as the Trojans accumulated 18 shots and eight shots on goal.
Vanessa Mejia wouldn't be denied for the Gamecocks, netting two goals in the game, which included the game-winning goal at the 73:48 mark.
