TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Back-to-back home runs power No. 6 Florida State past Troy, 4-1, Wednesday afternoon at JoAnne Graf Field.
Back-to-back home runs by Cassidy Davis and Carsyn Gordon gave the Seminoles (42-8) the lead once and for all in the bottom of the third inning.
The Trojans (34-16) struck first in the top of the first inning with a single up the middle by that scored who led off with a double to center field.
The back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the third gave Florida State the lead, but the Seminoles then added two more insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth inning when Elizabeth Mason doubled down the left field line to score Gordon and Sydney Sherill.
