JONESBORO, Ark. – Troy volleyball fell in three sets to Arkansas State to open Sun Belt Conference play Friday night at First National Bank Arena.
Cheyenne Hayes' and Belle Waldrop's 24 combined kills were not enough for the Trojans (6-8) as they fell 3-0 (22-25, 24-26, 18-25) to the Red Wolves (9-5). Hayes has now recorded double-digit kills in 12 straight games for Troy.
The Trojans were out front early in the opening set – 12-9 – before the Red Wolves went on a five-point rally to flip the momentum. Troy regained the lead at 21-20 before A-State was able to come away with the win.
