TROY, Ala. – For the third Friday night in a row, Troy volleyball went to five sets in a tournament opener but fell to Kennesaw State in a heartbreaker to open the Troy Classic.
Troy (4-6) got off to an extremely hot start with a dominating set one win over the Owls (8-4) – running out to a 11-2 lead before most of the crowd at Trojan Arena could even find their seats.
The Trojans tallied 12 kills as a team in the first set – with three apiece from and . Hayes finished as the only player with double-digit kills (17) and extended her streak of consecutive games with double digits to eight.
