TROY – It has taken everything short of bailing wire and duct tape, but Troy’s defense has come through even as injuries have mounted in the secondary.
Those injuries have been cause for concern, but the Trojans may be healthier – and more productive – along the defensive front than they’ve been all season.
Antione Barker earned Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week recognition as he helped the Trojans hold Georgia Southern to 101 yards rushing in a crucial 35-21 road victory last Saturday in Statesboro, Ga. Barker made three tackles – all behind the line of scrimmage, including two sacks – for the Trojans.
