Roberts gets tryout with Lions

One phone call early Monday may not have ended Tyler Roberts’ plans to study this week, but it surely changed the material that he will try to learn.
Troy’s star defensive end received a preferred tryout invitation from the Detroit Lions – two days after the conclusion of the 2016 NFL Draft. Roberts’ phone had been so quiet following the draft that he began to formulate plans to study for the Graduate Management Admission Test – a test students are required to take before entering most graduate business schools.
