Troy defense 'clearly ahead' of offense

TROY Like with any spring football scrimmage, each play has positive and negatives. If the offense looks good, the defense looks bad. If the defense looks sharp, the offense looks shoddy.

The latter was definitely the case for Troy in its annual T-Day game on Saturday.

“Clearly our defense is ahead of our offense right now. I think that’s the thing that’s really clear,” coach Neal Brown said. “Offense started slow, but I think a lot of that is because I think our defense is pretty good…I think our front seven has a chance to be pretty good, upper echelon in our league.
