HATTIESBURG, Mississippi – A second quarter surge carried Troy to a 75-54 win over Mississippi Valley State on Saturday in Reed Green Coliseum.
After the Devilettes scored the opening basket of the second quarter, Troy (5-1) scored 23 of the next 27 points scampering to a 38-27 advantage. The Trojans allowed just four field goals in the frame and took a 44-33 into the locker room.
Japonica James topped her career-high of 16 points set on Friday against Sam Houston State with a new personal best scoring 17 on Saturday and finished one rebound shy of a double-double.
