Troy Cruises in Sun Belt Quarterfinal

NEW ORLEANS – The Troy women's tennis team cruised to a quarterfinal win in its first match at the 2016 Sun Belt Championships on Friday. Troy, the tournament's No. 5 seed, beat No. 4 seed Georgia Southern, 4-1, at the City Park/Pepsi Tennis Center.

Troy (12-8) avenged a regular-season loss to the Eagles and advanced to its second Sun Belt semifinal in three years under head coach Rawia Elsisi. The Trojans will now take on the tournament's No. 1 seed, No. 48 Georgia State, on Saturday at 10 a.m. CT.
