Another head coach opening in the college ranks and Troy’s Neal Brown is again being mentioned as a possible replacement.
Brown is reportedly among the coaches most coveted to replace Dana Holgorsen, who left West Virginia to take the University of Houston head coach job.
Considered one of the rising stars in the profession, Brown was also reported to be among those who drew interest for the Kansas State, Louisville and Texas Tech openings, which were filled by Chris Klieman (Kansas State) and Scott Satterfield (Louisville) in December and Matt Wells (Texas Tech) in late November.
Under the leadership of Brown, Troy has compiled three straight 10-win seasons, capped by a 42-32 win over Buffalo in the Dollar General Bowl on Dec.
