Troy blasts South Alabama in regular season finale

The Trojans exploded for eight runs, all after a 35-minute weather delay, in an 8-0 win over the No. 23 Jaguars Saturday. With the victory, Troy (32-24 overall, 17-13 Sun Belt) earned a series win against their rivals and secured the fourth-seed in the upcoming conference tournament that begins Wednesday in San Marcos, Texas.

“We played a really good baseball game. We had the big inning,” Trojans head coach Mark Smartt said. “Just really proud of the series win and to finish off the home schedule winning the last two and here on senior day. A lot of good things happened.
