Nashville, Tenn. – The Troy women's soccer team picked up its first win of the season on Thursday night, defeating Lipscomb 1-0 at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
The win marks new head coach Stuart Gore's first of his tenure with the Trojans.
After being held scoreless in the first half, Troy (1-0-0) broke through on a Gabrielle Chartier goal off of a corner kick in the 59th minute. Lipscomb (0-0-1) applied pressure late in the game but couldn't find the back of the net.

Lipscomb came out firing early, scoring a goal 20 seconds into the game.
