TROY – The Troy women's basketball team will enter the Sun Belt Conference Tournament next week as the No. 3 seed after an 89-76 win over Coastal Carolina in Trojan Arena Saturday.
The Trojans (22-7, 13-5 SBC) will be seeded third for the second time in three seasons. Troy won the 2017 edition as the No. 3 seed.
Coastal Carolina (16-13, 8-10) was no match for the hot-shooting Trojans Saturday. CCU took a 4-0 lead to start the game, but after a 0-for-4 start, Troy came roaring back knocking down eight of its next 10 attempts and scored 15 points off turnovers in building a 28-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.
