TROY, Ala. – One of the all-time winningest coaches in Troy Baseball history, John Mayotte, passed away Friday. A member of the Troy Baseball Hall of Fame, Mayotte won 386 games during his 12-year career with the Trojans.
Mayotte took over for Hall of Fame head coach Chase Riddle in the 1991 season and led Troy to the NCAA Division II College World Series in 1993 and was named the National Coach of the Year.
Following the program's move to Division I in 1994, the Trojans continued their winning ways, advancing to a pair of NCAA Regional tournaments in 1995 and 1997.
