Troy AD: Trojan men's basketball coaching opening attracts 'ton of interest'

TROY – Not that he’s surprised, but Troy athletics director Jeremy McClain said there is “a ton of interest” in the Trojans’ open men’s basketball head coaching job.

“From people connected to the university or connected to the region, and really just nationally – a ton of interest,” McClain said during halftime of Thursday night’s WNIT game between Troy and UAB at Trojan Arena. “It’s not surprising, but always glad to see that and feel that from people around the country.”

Obviously, McClain didn’t disclose specifics about his search, which has been ongoing since the decision to fire head coach Phil Cunningham after six seasons was announced on March 11.
