“Jeremy McClain is not only a good man, in my opinion, he is one of America’s most promising young leaders in intercollegiate athletics administration,” Troy chancellor Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., said in a statement issued by the school. “He has done an outstanding job at Troy, and we thank him and his family for their service to our university.”
McClain, who came to Troy in 2015 after overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Southern Miss athletic department for three years, also was Delta State’s AD for five years before his arrival at Southern Miss.
USM president Rodney Bennett, according to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger, sent a message to the school’s faculty and staff on Thursday announcing the hire.
