TROY, Ala. – A 23-point performance from Austin Crowley on five made threes carried Southern Miss over Troy, 74-65, in the rematch at Trojan Arena on Thursday night.
For the third straight game, the Trojans (13-11, 5-6 SBC) fall, yet the team remains in a three-way tie for seventh after Old Dominion and Georgia Southern fell. The Golden Eagles (20-4, 9-2 SBC) take sole position of first place in the conference as they become the first team with 20 wins in the SBC.
Zay Williams willed the Trojans through the ballgame, leading the team in scoring with 18 points on 8-of-13 shooting.
