TROY, Ala. – The night belonged to Nelson Phillips as he tied the NCAA record of 13 steals in a game to collect the 118-61 victory for Troy over Southern New-Orleans on Tuesday night in Trojan Arena.
With the 118-point performance, the Trojans continue their best start since the 2002-03 season at 6-1 while advancing to 4-0 against first-time opponents this season.
Phillips had a night to remember, breaking the Troy single-game record for steals and tying the NCAA record set by Daron "Mookie" Blaylock in 1987 and 1988 with 13 in 27 minutes.
