AUBURN, Ala. – Troy dropped its road opener to Auburn Wednesday night at Plainsman Park 10-1. The Trojans struggled to string together any offense as they were held to 5 hits in the ballgame.
The Trojans (4-1) struck early as Tommy Sheehan walked the first two batters throwing nine straight balls. After a Bartolero ground ball advanced the runners, drove in his fifth RBI of the season to give Troy the early 1-0 lead.
Auburn (3-1) was able to take the lead in the bottom half of the inning with a Bryson Ware grand slam after Trojan starting pitcher (0-1) had him in a 0-2 hole to give the Tigers a 4-1 lead.
