TROY, Ala. – Troy overcame an early four-run deficit to clinch a series victory over Louisiana Tech with a 7-4 win over the Bulldogs Saturday at Riddle-Pace Field. The win marks Troy's first 7-0 start since 2016 and just the second since 2008 while Louisiana Tech drops to 4-2 on the year.
Orlando Ortiz made the start for Troy on the mound, but it was Marquez Oates that earned credit for the win, his second of the year. The Trojans also saw one inning of relief from Tyson Ellis before DJ Wilkinson pitched two scoreless innings to earn the first save of his career.
