Trojan playmakers credit blockers for key TDs

TROY – Troy running back B.J. Smith quipped his linemen “definitely parted the Red Sea” during his 26-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter at Nebraska on Saturday.

“I just definitely saw nothing but an open hole,” Smith said on Monday. “I actually saw their safeties were rolling over. I said, ‘OK. If the O-line gets a good push.’ That’s definitely what it was. I don’t think anybody touched me. That’s really an offensive line touchdown. No doubt.”

Another long scoring run – this one by punt returner Cedarius Rookard – were among the top plays in the Trojans’ 24-19 win against the Cornhuskers.
