Trojan defense regroups after 'wake-up call'

TROY – On a long night for the Troy defense, Boise State rolled up 416 yards and scored six offensive touchdowns in last Saturday’s season opener.

“Honestly, we probably needed a wake-up call on that side of the ball,” Trojans head coach Neal Brown said this week. “I thought the offense won both scrimmages we had in fall camp. We gave up several big plays in both those scrimmages. Now to see it in a real game, I think it’s got our guys’ attention. Hopefully, we can get some of those things corrected.”

Third down and big plays – and sometimes big plays on third down – will certainly be addressed.
