Smartt becomes the 55th All-American in school history after he posted a .343 batting average, .406 slugging percentage and .523 on-base percentage with 21 doubles, six home runs and 41 RBIs during the 2019 season. His doubles total currently ranks as the 22nd most in the country and will go down as the ninth most in a season in school history.
“Our program benefits when players earn postseason accolades, and I am proud that Chase has been named a Collegiate Baseball All-American,” head coach Mark Smartt said of his son. “Chase had a solid senior season but played exceptionally well in the last six weeks.
