At times it looked like Troy might need a mulligan while playing Milligan, but the Trojans knocked down enough shots to earn an 80-67 victory Thursday at the Dothan Civic Center.
Troy (6-7) led by 23 late in the first half, but the Trojans endured a scoring drought of 6:40 early in the second half. That allowed the Buffaloes from the NAIA to chip away at the lead – cutting it down to five at 49-44 with a layup from Mike Featherston with 12:52 left in the game.
Troy head coach Phi Cunningham attributed the cold stretch – and the Trojans’ overall struggles from the field – to fatigue.
