ATHENS, Georgia – Corey Childress, Joey Denison and Drew Frederic each earned NCAA Athens Regional All-Tournament Team honors, as announced Monday night.
A senior, Childress fanned a career-high nine batters in his final outing in a Troy uniform to lead the Trojans in their opening-round win over Duke on Friday night. He allowed just three hits over six innings and combined with Andrew Crane for a shutout of the Blue Devils – who ran the table after the loss and advanced to the Super Regional round.
All-American and Sun Belt Player of the Year Joey Denison finished his Trojan career on fire – batting 6-for-12 with seven RBI and four runs scored in the Regional.
