It's the second week of October and Troy will finally get the chance to have a home opener at The Vet.
Saturday's game against Texas State (1-3) is the latest start to a home season since 1969.
"We love playing at home, and there's nothing like The Vet on gameday," Troy coach Chip Lindsey said. "We have the best environment in the Sun Belt without a doubt, and I know the fans that do come on Saturday will be loud, and our players will feed off that."
Troy (1-1) is fourth in the Sun Belt Conference East Division behind Appalachian State, Georgia Southern and Coastal Carolina.
