ALRINGTON, Texas – The Trojans fell to UT Arlington, 2-1, after a pitcher's duel ended in a walk-off home run Saturday at Allan Saxe Field.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, UTA's K.J. Murphy hit a walk-off solo home run to give Troy (15-5, 1-1) its first loss in conference play.
The Mavericks (10-13, 1-1) hopped on the board early scoring a run when Whitney Walton doubled to score Kimber Cortemelia who led off with an infield single.
Both pitchers worked their way out of back-to-back innings where each team threatened with runners before tied up the game in the top of the fourth with a solo blast to left field.
