The Sun Belt Conference will announce Wednesday that it is adding a football championship game in 2018, according to reports by the Associated Press and ESPN.
With the Big 12's recent announcement that it will re-implement its title game in 2017, the Sun Belt had been the last FBS conference without plans for one. Sun Belt commissioner Karl Benson and Texas State president Denise Trauth are expected to make the announcement during a conference call on Wednesday.
The Sun Belt currently has 11 football-playing members, though that number will drop to 10 in 2018 after Idaho and New Mexico State leave the conference.
